Products¶
Klipspringer sells three kinds of products.
In simple terms:
- a ticket admits its holder to the event
- an add-on is an extra that people buy with a ticket
- a membership gives discounts and access to events across your organization.
Ticket tiers¶
Every ticket must belong to a tier. If you offer free admission, you will still need to make it a tier, but you can set the price to 0.
You can use tiers for each kind of admission you offer. For example, a conference might have a Guest tier for general admission, a Sponsor tier that includes the sponsors' dinner, and a Student tier limited to people 25 and under.
Add-ons¶
Addons can be restricted to a specific ticket, requiring any ticket, or not requiring anything. For example, you may have a dinner add-on that requires a Sponsor ticket.
Memberships¶
A membership plan gives members free or discounted admission, guest passes, or access to member-only items.
For example, a museum might sell a 1-year membership for $80 that includes free daily admission, 10% off add-ons, and 2 guests per visit. Members must buy the plan again when it ends.
Questions at checkout¶
You can use custom questions to collect information you need to run the event, such as asking for allergies or T-shirt sizes. It is very important to only collect the information that you need, since it can cross into sensitive information.
